This is a one-day walking tour course that takes you to immerse yourself in Matsumoto, the intersection of nature and culture, also known as the gateway to the mountains. Starting from the Alps Park, which offers a panoramic view of the Northern Alps, the route proceeds through Joyama Park and into the town centre. Along the way, you can taste traditional handmade sweets at Shinbashi Ame Shop (a candy shop) and visit the Former Kaichi School, a Western-style building from the Meiji period. After visiting the national treasure Matsumoto Castle, you stroll through Nakamachi Street, where much of the original charm of the castle town is retained. You can also enjoy a lunch made with local ingredients. This is a trip that captures the essence of Matsumoto where you can slowly walk and feel the town's landscape nurtured by the mountains and the culture that breathes through history.
